Inlays and onlays are custom-created for you by taking an impression of your affected tooth and using it as a blueprint for your new restoration. Porcelain is the most popular choice of material because it can be set up to match the colour of your own teeth, but gold and composite resin may also be used.
Once they are bonded in place, your new inlay or onlay may take some getting used to, but discomfort is typically minor and of short duration.
